Sanjay Acharya CS898T - Mobile & Wireless Networks Dr. Chang 1. Topic: A survey of Energy Efficient Network Protocols for Wireless Networks 2. Major Goals: - Recognize the major sources of power consumption within mobile terminals. - Provide guidelines for reducing the power consumption. - List some energy efficient protocols in different layers viz., network, mac, llc, transport etc. 3. Scope: The wireless networks have become an integral part of the communication system and hence power conservation in wireless networks is a hot issue. This ensures longevity of the network. Power consumption can occur in a network interface at various levels. We analyze these issues and provide a comprehensive summary of various protocols at different network layers that can be used to conserve power at these aforesaid layers. 4. References [1] Andrea J.
