Topic: Design and Implementation of WLAN/ CDMA 2000 interworking architecture. Abstract: WLan enables wireless network are popular in the enterprise networks, homes and public hot spots. WLan supports data rates of 1 Mbps to 54 Mbps over a small area of few thousand meters. Wireless wide area network based on 3G standards such as CDMA 2000 on the other hand support rates of 114Kbps to 2.3 Mbps over a wide area in the order of several square miles. The Combination of 3G and WLan wireless technology brings benefits to both the end users and service providers by being able to communicate anywhere and at anytime. The goal of this paper is to describe the design potions available to build an integrated network and then present details of the design and the implementation of an integrated network. Scope: 1: Overview of CDMA 2000 standards. 2: Overview of WLan Standards. 3: Authentication. 4: The integrated network. 5: Security issues in 3G/ WLan interworking. 6: Conclusion and future development Note: More topics will be added when an in-depth study in the design and implementation is made.
