Paul Okokhere CS 898T Proposal for term paper Summer 2005 Topic: Ad Hoc Wireless Network and its Routing Protocols Major goals: The goal of this paper is to give an overview of the routing protocols used in ad-hoc wireless networks. The paper will examine the correct and timely message deliverance between nodes utilizing these protocols including their functionality and characteristics. Scope: Since protocols that are being used in wireless networking have evolved a great deal, the emphasis of this paper will be on modern protocols. Presently, there are two types of mobile wireless networks namely, infrastructured networks and infrastructureless or Ad-Hoc networks. The paper will be describing the protocols for the ad-hoc wireless networks; these are networks without access points. The design of these routing protocols will be examined, the operations will be described and a comparison of their characteristics will also be made. References: [1] Charles E.
