    1. A video signal with a frame resolution of 800 X 600 pixels needs
       to be transmitted. 
       a) If the signal is color with 8 bits/pixel encoding and 30 
          frames/sec, what is bandwidth required to transmit the signal? 
          Hint: bandwidth = (# of pixels)*(frames/sec)*(encoding bits/pixel) 
       b) Your modem is up to 56 Kbps. Without loss of the resolution
          and color, how many frames per second can it transfer?



    2. a) Compare bandwidth, security, and prices for DSL and cable-
          based Internet access.
       b) List the providers of DSL and cable-based Internet access in 
          Wichita area. What are their prices?



    3. a) I need information on Internet E-Mail Standards. Who sets the
          standards ? 
       b) Write down the URLs where one can access these Internet standards?
       c) What are the mail standards?
       d) Are there different mail protocols for ISPs and the online
          service like AOL?



    4. a) What is the OSI 7-Layer Reference Model? Briefly describe what
          should be done in each layer.

    5. a) How can you get your IP address after connecting to the Internet?
       b) List at least three Web sites where you can find the information 
          about a domain name.
       c) List at least two Web sites where you can host your home page
          without any fee?
