Financial Opportunities for Graduate Study
Several employment opportunities exist for graduate students to meet their tuition and living expenses during their stay at Wichita State University.

Departmental Graduate Assistantships: Each year, the Department of Computer Science awards several teaching and research assistantships on a competitive basis to the best qualified students. For international students, a Test of Spoken English (TSE) score of at least 50 is required. Students who receive assistantships automatically pay in-state tuition fee, which is much lower than out-of-state tuition. Also, based on the award and the level of appointment, some part of in-state tuition is waived. Application forms for assistantships can be obtained from and should be returned to: |

Cooperative Education: This program allows both domestic as well as international students to work part-time at local companies in Wichita. Recently, Computer Science students have been highly sought after by local companies and all applicants have been successful in obtaining such jobs. Although this program is mainly for undergraduate students at the university, due to the high demand, Computer Science is the only field whose graduate students are also able to make use of it. International students must have been enrolled at the university on a full-time basis for at least 9 consecutive months before entering this program.
